Taranaki Hunting and Fishing are the naming rights sponsor for the annual West Coast One Base Marlin tournament, and in association with Shimano NZ, held over Taranaki Anniversay Weekend.

The tournament has a slight adjustment this year too - a Tag and Release tournament for Billfish plus prizes for weighed Marlin. Weighed fish will include Snapper, Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Kingfish. 

Caught Billfish prizes will be cash prizes (refer rules), and there will be daily draws of Shimano products.

• Fishing: Saturday - Monday 9-11th March 2024 Taranaki Anniversay Weekend
• Fishing times: Saturday and Sunday 0700 – 1700 hrs and 0700 to 1600 hrs on Monday. Lines must be out of the water outside these times.
• Weighstation times: Saturday/Sunday is 1600 - 1800 hrs and Monday 1500 – 1700hrs.
